What to see and what to do

The Area
Nancy’s Cottage is located just 5 minutes drive outside Clogherhead one of the loveliest fishing villages in the area. In Clogherhead there are 5 pubs, several shops, a supermarket and a restaurant.

Places to visit
A 20 minute drive to the south brings you to the Boyne Valley Heritage Centre (Bru na Boinne) which also contains the famous historic sites of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth neolithic passage tombs. Close by are the Hills of Tara and Slane seats of the High Kings of Ireland and St Patrick. To the west of Nancy’s Cottage is the Round Tower of Monasterboice and Melifont Abbey in Collon.

About 45 minutes drive north of Nancy’s Cottage is the Cooley Peninsula with its stunning views of the Cooley Mountains and Carlingford Lough. Drogheda is a fifteen minute drive from Nancys cottage and places to visit there include Millmount Museum & Martello Tower, Old Melifont Abbey in Tullyallen and Drogheda Heritage Centre in Mary St.

Activities in the area include Sea Angling and Course Fishing on the Boyne. Louth has 9 golf courses, the two most famous being just a 10 mins. drive from the cottage.
County Louth Golf Club, “Baltray” is ranked amongst the top links courses in the world, 10min. drive from the cottage. (+353 419822329).

Further down the N2 is Townley Hall Golf Club, this 9 hole course is proving very popular with all golfers.
Dundalk Golf Club, this club has hosted many Irish Championships over the years and is home of the Irish P.G.A.(+353 42 9321731).
